How to Speak Life Over Your Kids

Happy 2018! I pray you and your family had a fun and relaxing Christmas break. Our kids go back to school next week so I wanted to share a short blog post with two ways we speak life over them. Speak Life with YOUR Words  Every year for Christmas my mom used to make us a handmade item. Coming down the stairs on Christmas morning to see what she made was always the highlight of my day. I have tried to carry on that tradition with my kids. The only problem is that I am not quite as crafty...

Merry Christmas!

Hi friends! I wanted to take a minute to tell you how thankful I am for each and every one of you. When I started blogging I never dreamed I would make so many online friends! While I wish I could get together with every one of you for coffee (or tea in my case) I love that we have the ability to connect online. Our family usually does professional photographs for our Christmas cards but this year we kept things simple by using pictures of our time at Disney and other adventures from our year.  Since I can’t mail a card to each of you individually I thought I would share it with you here:     Merry Christmas and Happy New Year! Praying blessings over each of you in 2018. Love, Rachael...

How to Smooth Your Rough Edges {#realtalk on Body Image}

{Guest post by Kasey Shuler} Ladies, our bodies are in a constant state of change. The middle school girl prays for curves (I’m speaking from experience), the mom tries to gain some control and tame her postpartum tummy with a belly binder, the older woman slathers on anti-aging creams to keep her skin from wrinkling. It seems like we are all trying to achieve the look of a twenty-year-old college girl. But even the college girl has some self-perceived body distortions of her own. It’s time to let the image of a perfect body go and rest in the hands...

#realtalk about Social Media

Hi friends, It’s time for some #realtalkwithRachael. Anytime something is weighing on my heart I know it’s the Lord asking me to bring it into the light so we can discuss. {Disclaimer:  Anytime you see the #realtalkwithRachael posts it means it is real, raw, and unedited. By no means am I up on a soapbox or claiming to have all the answers. I am simply bringing a topic into the light that needs to be discussed so the enemy can’t continue to have that territory in our lives.} It’s the season of many parties and gatherings which means there...

A Planner to Keep You Anchored in 2018

Can you believe 2017 is already almost over?! This year has flown by and a new year is upon us. Everywhere we turn we are already being sold new workout plans, planners, and other resources to ensure 2018 is off to a great start. I admit that I am a recovering non-planner. I have no idea how I functioned other than I was always frazzled and got very little done. Ever since I started using a planner my life, and goals, have dramatically improved. I know many people use phones and computers to plan these days but I still love to write everything out on a calendar so I can see my schedule at a glance every week. I was recently introduced to the Anchored Press devotional planner and I fell in love. It combines planning with the word of God. Yes, please! They have a daily planner and a weekly planner, depending on your preference in how you like to plan your week. I will be giving away one of the weekly planners at the end of this post so read on to enter! My pictures don’t do this planner justice but I did snap a few to give you a glimpse inside. However, you can head over to Anchored Press to see up close details in pictures and videos. I am so excited to share that Anchored Press...

Brave Girls {Party Idea & Giveaway}

If you’ve followed my blog for long, you know that many of my posts come from moments with my kids. While I love doing ministry outside the home I believe our greatest calling in life is inside our home (this is true for both men and women). I admit that I fail in this area often and God has to realign my heart with his. My dad was a pastor, and he too, used us, kids, to illustrate what God was teaching him. I will never forget when I was 5 years old I told him I needed to...
