For today’s First Fruit Friday I am sharing a devotional I wrote and a workout that goes with it. Enjoy!
IN DUE SEASON
“Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up.” Galations 6:9
POWER THOUGHT: If God called you to it, He will bring you through it. Don’t quit.
Have you ever felt the Lord call you to do something so clearly that you couldn’t wait to get started? Then as soon as you started you were met with opposition? I believe we can all relate to this scenario. When this happens it is critical that we do two things before we quit. First, we must go back to the place or moment where we heard from the Lord. We must remember that still, small voice that called us to walk upon the waters and not look down at the circumstances and sink. Next, we must remember God’s faithfulness in our lives. Think back on a time when He called you to deeper waters and you had to trust him to do the impossible. Remember how he was faithful then and He will be faithful again. Read the Bible for stories of God’s faithfulness over the years. Keep moving forward and you will reap a harvest in due season if you simply do not give up.
WRITE IT OUT:
Take a few minutes to read these questions and journal your answers:
- Can you remember a time in your life that God called you to take a leap of faith(big or small)?
- Were you met with opposition along the way? If so, how did you overcome it and keep marching forward in the direction God was calling you?
- Is there an area today that God is asking you to not give up?
