Last week on talk therapy we discussed the art of being a good listener. This week we are talking about thinking before we speak.
I could give you tips on how to control your tongue but the truth is that when we haven’t spent enough time in our prayer closet, the words that come out of our mouths and heart will shock ourselves and damage others.
Here are 4 reasons to get in your prayer closet before you speak:
Release your fears, worries, and burdens to God, not friends.
Reveal: God reveals your heart and gives answers. He teaches us when to speak and when to be silent.
Relationship: your relationship with God becomes intimate. You can hear his voice more clearly.
Renew: God renews your mind in the prayer closet. Romans 12:2 says that “right-thinking produces right living”. God shows us thoughts about situations that do not belong there.
Action step: make space for your prayer time. It doesn’t have to be fancy, it just needs to get done.
Leave a review on the podcast and let us know what God spoke to you!
Intelligent people think before they speak; what they say is then more persuasive. Kind words are like honey-sweet to the taste and good for your health. Proverbs 16:23-24
